Walleye are my very favorite fish to eat. They make the best fish and chips you will ever have! We are so blessed to have one of the most unbelievable walleye fisheries in the world located right here in the Columbia River. Not only do we have staggering amounts of walleye, we also have walleye weighing 15 plus pounds. The Washington state record walleye weighed in at 20.38 pounds and was caught in the Columbia River only a few years ago! The Oregon state record is 19.94 pounds! It is believed that the next world record walleye may possibly come from the Columbia River. It is common to have 20 to 50 fish days. I like to begin targeting walleye in January and continue to pursue them into mid summer.
